Have you ever thought that you wanted to live life with purpose? You want to fill that empty void that your job, wealth, and material things can’t. You want your time here to have meaning.
Most of us at one time or another has wondered what is the meaning of life. We want to know if we’re doing what we were put here to do or if we’re going about it all wrong.
If you’re here today, then I believe you’re on the right track of living your life with purpose. You’re here to gain knowledge of taking that first step into a purpose-filled life.
Having a life filled with purpose doesn’t necessarily mean that you should expect to go out and be able to change the world as a whole.
Living a life with purpose entails living a life with meaning and becoming the best person you can be. You’ll share your talents and passions with the world and will receive pure happiness in return.
How To Live Life with Purpose
1. Evaluate Your Life
If you truly want to live a life with purpose, you must evaluate what’s going on in your life right now.
In order to get on the right track you must be an active participant in your life. You’re probably thinking that you already are an active participant because it’s your life, but that may not be true.
Some people allow things to happen to them by way of allowing others to make decisions for them or having others force unhappiness onto them.
If you’re in a position where someone is forcing their decisions onto you and directing your life for you, then this issue must be addressed.
For your life to have any type of purpose, you need to be in control of it. You need to be the one mapping the course of your life.
Allowing someone else to have control relinquishes your power.
When you evaluate your life so that you can lead a life of purpose, you must choose to remove anything that’s holding you back.

2. Share Your Passion
Whether we realize it or not, we all have something to offer the world. When you share your passion with the world, your life will begin to have more purpose.
Our passions are what gets us out of bed in the morning. Our passions are what keeps us going. More than not, our passions are our reason for living.
If you’re not sure what you’re passionate about, just think about the things that you really like doing.
What activities put a smile on your face?
Do you enjoy sharing your skills with others?
Is there a certain topic that you love to continue learning more about?
Are there things you enjoyed doing while you were younger, but stopped just because you felt you no longer had the time?
Once you discover your passion or return to your passion you’ll be able to share it with others. Whether it’s something creative, teaching, public speaking, or anything that gets your soul moving finding your passion will help you fill that void and move forward into living with purpose.
3. Trust Your Values and Beliefs
Trusting values and beliefs is a strong characteristic of people who live life with purpose.
If you’re someone who does trust your beliefs and values then it’ll be difficult for others to sway your opinion or have you do something that you don’t fully agree with.
You know what’s important to you and will stand by your decision. Standing strong behind what you truly believe in shows that you have integrity and can be trusted.
Having a strong set of values and beliefs will help guide you through every day decision making, determining your priorities, and setting goals.
Focusing on the things in life that are important to you will allow you to always be true to yourself and that is living with purpose.

4. Choose Happiness
There are so many things that affect our everyday lives that sometimes it can get downright frustrating.
A bill is past due. You missed your best friend’s birthday party because of work. A tire on your car just blew out. There’s a blizzard outside, so you can’t go for your daily jog.
Some people may let these things overly stress them out. I’m not saying that they aren’t stressful, but how you react to certain situations is what determines your happiness.
Most of the things that make us unhappy are things that are out of our control. If you want to live life with purpose, then you must be able to choose happiness by understanding that these things happen, but they do not define who you are.
You are defined by your decisions in reacting to these situations. You can choose to look at the negative or you can choose to find a silver lining.
A purposeful life is not plagued with unhappiness, but is filled with true happiness that’s originated within oneself.
5. Be Present In The Moment
You may have recently heard of the term mindfulness. This means to be present in the moment and consciously aware your surroundings and accepting of your current thoughts and feelings.
When you choose to live in the present you’ll begin to appreciate the little things in life and not stress so much over the not-so-little things.
When you’re living life with purpose, you’ll appreciate what’s going on around you and will not be tempted to change any of it. You’re going with the flow by being in tune with your thoughts and emotions.
Being in the present also helps to bring focus into that moment. You won’t be worrying about the future state of your “what ifs” and “maybes”.
A person living with purpose will discover that their mindfulness will show and exude onto others.

Have you started living your life with purpose?
I felt like this message was written for me. Thank you for the tips.
My purpose was to raise a good family. Teach them life skills. Serve others. Now to be a good grandmother. Teach other people the skills I have serve where needed
It’s always good to reevaluate your priorities in life. Especially at this time of year. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you for this motivation. I sometimes feel like life is just unpredictable and I can’t get ahead ever. So I let things be out of control instead of realizing that “sometimes” things are out of your control, not all the time. That’s where I lack having control over my life. I feel often like none of it is in my hands. I’m currently tied to being a caretaker so it really does affect what I can do. What I can’t change I just have to learn to accept I guess.
What a beautiful article to read. Now that I am already a mother my purpose is to raise my kids to become a good person in this society and to teach them everything that they need to know and to learn for them to survive in this world.

My life has changed so much over the years, and it is nice to go by these thoughts and actions. I feel like I have wasted a lot of time getting to their point where I am not wasting my life on certain things.
We have a limited life on earth so it is really a must to live life to the fullest. Sharing your passion is one of the things I am doing.
